Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) and Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC)

The Naval Sea Cadet Corps was established by the Navy League of the U.S. in 1958, federally chartered on Sept. 10, 1962, and is the premier youth development program of the Navy League. Wearing the Navy uniform, modified, with support from the Navy and Coast Guard, the Sea Cadet program is designed for youth 13 through 17 years of age and the League Cadets from 11 through 13.

PROGRAM GOALS

Leadership Development: To build leaders with strong character, confidence, and accountability.

Career Exploration: To provide hands-on exposure to career paths in the Navy, Coast Guard, and other maritime fields

Physical Fitness and Discipline: To promote healthy, active lifestyles and self-discipline through physical training and military-style drills.

Maritime Interest: To develop an interest in seamanship, naval life, and seagoing skills, as well as the importance of the sea services to our nations global reach and economic security.

Seat Cadets explore areas such as seamanship, aviation, engineering, and cybersecurity while participating in activities and advanced trainings across the country, often on military bases and ships. The Sea Cadets promote personal growth, physical fitness, and community service in a structured, supportive environment.
